Is Homosexuality a Choice? :

No. Homosexuality is NOT a choice.

God loves homosexuals. He makes people gay. It is fundamentally contrary to reason and an enduring faith in a living and loving God to say that God does not make people gay, or worse, that he makes people gay in order that they’ll change or go to Hell. While many individuals who wrongly believe themselves to be Christian believe that, true Christians realize that God’s love overcomes all boundaries and judgments. God would never condemn anyone eternally (though they may condemn themselves), and the Bible makes this clear. Regardless of whether you are gay, straight, bi or something else - God loves you exactly as you are.

1) Science has established homosexuality as a biologically occurring sexual orientation. In other words, science shows us that people are born gay. There are demonstrated neurological differences between heterosexual and homosexual men. Further, homosexuality is witnessed in over 1500 non-human species. Given the scientific gravity of the natural occurrence of homosexuality, it must either be agreed upon that homosexuality is natural, or other scientific discoveries such as gravity, evolution, the existence of the genetic code, the difference between biological genders and more must be equally abandoned.

2) Psychology has identified homosexuality as outside of conscious choice. All self-respecting psychologists agree that sexuality is not a conscious choice, and further affirm that very few people of any sexual orientation feel any sense of choice regarding their sexuality. Therefore, we must either conclude that homosexuality is natural, or that God created a brain insufficient for its own self-identification.

3) You did not choose to be straight. Many heterosexual bigots boldly declare, “You CHOSE to be gay!” That’s funny. Did they choose to be straight? If they can agree that they were naturally attracted to the opposite sex, how can they speak so boldly to declare that homosexuals are unnaturally attracted to the same sex? Either neither or both sexualities are a choice.

4) No normal human being would choose a lifestyle of hatred, condemnation, inequality, prejudice, and religious intolerance. Living in modern America as a homosexual may appear easy to those who never take the time to understand the hardships of oppression. The life of a homosexual child, teen and young adult is filled with pain, rejection and self-loathing. It is filled with feelings of inadequacy. Who would choose such a life? Either all gay people are mentally unstable and incapable of making sound decisions (try reasoning their general success and overall intelligence in that case), or homosexuality is not a choice.

Bigotry is a choice. Being gay is not. You don’t serve God by condemning people. You serve God through love. Put down your “God Hates Fags” sign and hug a queer for Jesus.
